All About The 240sx
Why the 240sx became popular and what people use it for now
The 240sx, as its known in America, is now a Drift King. The car when it was made was not marketed as a drift car what so ever, it was just marketed as a modest car for the lower class but tuners thought otherwise. The car is lightweight, has rear wheel drive, and has a super accesible price at the time. Tuners took the car to a whole different level. There are two Silvias that were huge for drfting. They are the Nissian Silvia S13 and the Nissian Silvia S14, both are some of my favorite cars. The S13 was a very popular choice for tuners at the time becuase of its front engine and rear wheel drve layout, as well as its ideal 55/45 weight distrubution.
Both the S13 and S14 are known as the 240sx in America mainly because of there 2.4 liter engines. The S14 was released in 1995 and was completly different from the S13. The S14 was lowered, had a widend track, 2 more inches to the wheelbase, and the overall length was shortened. Sadly the best part of the S13 was gone, which was the pop up headlights and for some reason the cup holders too. The cars themselves were very underpowered and most of the owners of the cars modifyed the heck out of them, especially if they want to use them as drift cars. Thus finding the cars completly stock and in a good condition is very very hard and is super expensive.
